Music - Halloween Ideas

Halloween Music and Sound Effects can be a big part of a Halloween Haunts and Parties. Traditional music with songs like the Monster Mash and others are always popular. But for your Haunts, you need a variety of sounds to support your props and staging areas within the Haunt.

I have purchased and used a few different CDs to provide my haunt some atmosphere needed to create the moods I wanted.  Overall, I didn't want to scare small kids, but instead wanted to provide mood that would make them comfortable and curious.

For a great techno dance beat, check out (GMS) Growling Mad Scientists.

The Sounds of Frenzy CD is my favorite Halloween CD and is performed by Jon St. John. It only has one track so it is easy to loop in a CD player. The music on the CD is a blend of dance with a beat and Halloween sound effects mixed in. I used this CD as the background music of the entire Haunted Garage. I highly recommend this CD if you have any interest in providing a spooky dance beat to your party or haunt.

The Netherworld CD is an above average CD containing 14 tracks of Halloween music by The Changelings and TMA-2. It has a few exceptional tracks and it worth adding to your Halloween music collection. I used a couple of tracks from this CD within certain areas of the Haunted Garage.

The Halloween Horror CD is an average CD providing continuous scary sounds. Although it has better quality than CDs found in cardboard at Wal-Mart and Big Lots, it didn't strike me as being much different. I had planned on extracting a couple of screams and sound effects from the CD to play in certain areas of the Haunted Garage, but didn't have time to complete the project for the 1999 season. Maybe next year...
