Digital Recorder

Halloween props digital recorder playback (animated)

2 digital recorder playback devices enclosed small plastic Frankenstein heads/faces. These devices independently allow you to record a 10 second message and play back the message either by pressing the test button or by a light sensing sensor. The device has its own microphone to record messages and an internal speaker for playback.

1 of the devices is unmodified. It requires 4 AA batteries to operate. It still has the original sound greeting stored on it, ready to be recorded over.

1 of the devices has been modified with a wall wart (transformer) of 4.5v DC to replace the need for batteries. It also has been modified with two mini audio jacks, a male jack for sound input and a female jack for external speaker connection (sound output). For some reason, the sound input jack isn’t working. However, the internal microphone still works and you can record from it. The output jack works well when connected to an external amplified speaker like a set of computer speakers. The back of the device comes apart to gain access to the modifications. You can make similar modifications to the other device if so desired.

The device has red LED eyes that light when the device is triggered for playback. The light sensing sensor is small and resides in the forehead of the face. It tends to only work well when the unit is powered on and first senses light. It triggers again if the light changes enough. You will have the best luck making sure this device gets some light in the sensor when powered/triggered.

The device lays flat, has “indented hook” on the back to hang on the wall.
