Remote Switch

Halloween props Wireless Remote Switch Control (pneumatic, animated)

You are purchasing the key chain remote and the control box. The Roadmaster Auto Security Light as seen in picture 3 is not included. The extra battery shown in picture 1 is not included either. Please read the entire description of this item.

Use this wireless remote switch control for the activation of any electrical controlled Halloween prop. The remote switch control uses 110v AC household current and outputs the same. There are two ways to use the control using one of two outputs (or both). One output is live (on) when power is applied to the input. The other output is dead (off).

When power is applied to the input, power will flow to the live output until the remote  (key chain remote) switch is used. When the remote switch is used, the power is cut to the live output and the other dead output becomes the live output. The new live output continues to be powered for 55 seconds then the power is cut and moved to the original live output.

Here is an example. Say a red lamp is plugged in the live output and a green one in the dead output. When you plug in the control into a household outlet, the red lamp turns on and stays on. When the remote switch is used, the red lamp turns off and the green lamp turns on and stays on for 55 seconds. After 55 seconds, the green lamp turns off and the red lamp turns back on. You don’t have to use the “red” lamp at all if you just want to trigger a prop for 55 seconds (remotely) and then have it reset.

Your prop is powered by 12v or 24v DC? No problem, just use a wall wart (transformer), plugging it into one of the outputs.

The wireless remote switch control was purchased as salvage and was modified slightly for this application. The guts of the control (as seen in picture 2) is a Roadmaster Auto Security Light (seen in picture 3) that was manufactured to be plugged into a car’s 12v DC lighter. The light would then be turned on using the key chain remote from up to 100 feet. The light is built to turn off after the 55 seconds from activation. You can not turn on and off the light using toggle button pushes. One push turns on the light. A second push will do nothing. Once the light turns off, another push will turn on the light. This behavior is the same on the modified control. The Roadmaster made the key remote/control to act on different frequencies. An “A” and a “B” frequency to my knowledge. This one for sale is an “A”. You can find ebay auctions for these security lights. You may be interested in picking up another one with a “B” frequency and perform a similar modification as done to this one being sold.

The guts of the original control were inserted into a standard electrical box. A relay was added to enable 120v AC power to be feed through the control when the relay is activated. The relay and control are powered by a 12v DC wall wart (transformer). Both the wall wart and power cord must be plugged in for the control to work.

You are purchasing the key chain remote and the control box. The Roadmaster Auto Security Light as seen in picture 3 is not included. The key chain remote uses a A23 or 23A battery which is included in the remote. The extra battery pictured is not included...it is shown only to show you that is it a battery half the size of a AA battery. The battery within the keychain remote is in working condition, but I can’t guarantee the life expectancy of the battery. Batteries can be bought at your local pharmacy for about $3 for a two pack.

Due to the weakness of the battery. I’ve only been able to effectively trigger the control from about 10 feet. Upgrading the battery to a brand name should do wonders, but I’ve not tested beyond 10 feet.

Why am I selling? I’ve bought several “salvaged or overstock or clearance” items over the years and modified them to trigger Halloween props. I’m cleaning out boxes of Halloween stuff that I’ve not used in a while and trying to sell them to purchase a digital SLR camera. Switching hobbies, not really… just wanting both J
